Unlocking Potential: Addressing Economic Mobility Challenges for Black Youth in the Rural South

  • Our client wanted to understand the obstacles preventing Black youth in the rural South from achieving economic mobility. They engaged our team to conduct comprehensive research, gather insights from key stakeholders, and identify ways funders could effectively address these challenges.

  • I partnered with the client to create an article outlining four key funder mindsets crucial for supporting economic mobility in the Black rural South. The publication was meant to inspire funders to adopt strategies that directly addressed the unique challenges being faced by these communities.

  • I collaborated with our internal team to develop a targeted interview list, craft interview templates, and conduct in-depth interviews with key leaders from Black rural South communities, field experts, and funders interested in supporting youth economic mobility. These conversations provided invaluable insights into the barriers and opportunities for enhancing economic opportunities for Black youth in these areas.

Empowering Black Communities: Strategic Partnership for Equity in Education, Housing, and Business

  • Our client sought to address racial inequities faced by Black community members by partnering with local social impact organizations. The goal was to develop and provide services across three key areas: Education, Housing and Home Ownership, and Black Business.

  • I partnered with the client to develop a comprehensive strategic plan that outlined a vision for the next ten years, with a particular focus on achieving near-term outcomes over the next 3-5 years. The plan focused on driving meaningful change within the targeted areas of education, housing, and Black business development. Our consulting team was brought in to assist with developing a strategic plan focused on these priority areas.

  • My approach involved preparing for and leading strategic planning working groups, as well as co-facilitating a Steering Committee Workshop to guide key decisions. I conducted personalized outreach to stakeholders to gather input on critical components of the strategic plan and developed comprehensive project materials to clarify the client’s strategy and implementation activities.

Global Partnership for Progress: Crafting a Comprehensive Strategy for Economic Empowerment and Health in the Caribbean

  • Our client, a coalition of local and international nonprofits, needed to develop a strategic plan to foster economic empowerment, improve livelihoods, and enhance access to quality healthcare for a Caribbean community. The goal was to create a comprehensive and actionable roadmap to achieve these objectives. Our team was engaged to support the coalition in crafting a robust strategy and a detailed implementation plan.

  • I partnered with the client to develop a comprehensive 3-5-year strategic plan and a detailed two-year plan for implementation. These plans provided a clear and actionable roadmap for achieving the coalition's goals and effectively addressing community needs.

  • My role involved conducting in-depth analysis and research, developing key client materials, and co-facilitating steering committee meetings. These collaborative sessions were pivotal in guiding strategic decisions and ensuring the final plan was both effective and actionable, setting the coalition up for success in achieving its goals.
